sometimes you get a call where everything sets off your Spidey senses. The timeline isn't right. The story has holes it in. Maybe the caregivers were just scared to take her to a hospital because of the coronavirus, but also they weren't being upfront about how a person could produce that quantity of bright red fresh blood in ten minutes and then have already clotted by the time EMS arrives on scene.

the Adult Protective Services paperwork and call has to happen because we are mandatory reporters and are often the only healthcare workers to ever see these peoples' living environments

It's an uncomfortable phone call to make but you hope something good comes of your concern. "Am I being overly suspicious of the family? Did they have good intentions but just not follow through correctly?"
