my temp partner works for the gurney shop so I got to hear about how we're preparing six extra ambulances (by extra I mean ancient relief pieces that are not far from needing to go to a nice farm upstate) to be BLS units for deployment in extreme disaster situations. these would potentially be staffed with engine people and would be deployed from various fire stations instead of the ambulance yard...after our trauma we went back to start building red bags and I had a chill afternoon in the stock room. I needed that chill time because I picked up a WDO that I was not looking forward to in the least... working 4 days in a row usually makes me pretty messed up mentally (ie angry from not having enough alone time and short with bs patients) but I figured it has been so much slower recently that it couldn't hurt...then it was forecast to rain all day...
