sure is weird going back to work after not leaving the house for two full days. i got stir crazy and started new sewing projects in an attempt to remember...(or forget?) what human companionship was like. social distancing* is really getting to a lot of us mentally in the healthcare field because we're so worried about bringing germs home to our families. my dad is fairly elderly/paranoid so i've been staying away from my parents. basically i hadn't been in the proximity of anyone since shelter in place went down Monday.

is it fucked up that like...going to work is the only time i'm within six feet of anyone else?

i don't know if other jobs have this thing where you literally only work with one designated partner every shift and when that person isn't there there's a weird hole in the fabric of your day. i guess cops have it. you don't even have to particularly like your partner* or have much in common with them in the beginning, but over time you form the kind of deep bond that only happens when you see the same weird shit together day in and day out. the shared glance where you make eye contact over the head of some outlandish person on your gurney that says "can you believe this??" is just like...*chef's kiss* shared trauma, man

* why is the spacing all funky on these? uhhh...social distancing? lol the wix app on my phone is kinda whack so it doesn't compute that i've tried cropping the edges literally 3 times **i like my partner btw, we have the same sense of humor and primal urge to buy every carb. he's very easygoing/chill to work with.
